Frank Emerson 9/17/09 In the 50's there was a military "nike base" about halfway down Muddy Branch between Route 28 and my Grandmother's home in G-Burg. Just before you came to the entrance there was a curve in the and if you honked the car horn twice before coming to the gate, the guards would start to open it. I would jump over my father's shoulder and honk the horn twice to see them do it, and they would get mad when they saw it wasn't a military vehicle.
Frank Emerson 9/17/09 I remember traveling on Muddy Branch road as a child. It was hardly enough room for 2 cars to pass, they had to slow down and be careful not to hit one another. It was not paved at all at this time.
