The Heeter-Crown farmhouse was built sometime around 1900 after an older house on the site burned down. It was a two-story, three-bay frame I-house. The house was located off Fields Road, right before you enter the Washingtonian Center. The 100-year-old house was demolished in May of 2010 to make way for more development.

Mary Margarert Garrett Abert | 1/16/11 | I can't beleive that my Great Great Grandfathers house was allowed to be destroyed. |
Friend | 3/8/11 | When did this happen? How was this not a historic site? |
Andrew Odom | 5/25/11 | Outrageous. I'm new to the area but I was surprised this development ("Crown Farms" is it?) went through. Talk about over-development. |
Margie Hickman | 9/23/11 | Jane Crown and I would ride her horse here almost every week to visit her Aunt Kitty and cousin Danny. They were the best of people kindhearted and honest hard working friends. I am sorry to see this happen to our farmland. So sad. |
Paxton "Packy" Pickrell | 5/12/12 | More of that modern word "Progress" that I have fought every day of my adult life. They take it all and walk away. They have no clue of the history and happiness that this home stood for - Sad! |
Friend | 7/10/13 | Very upsetting...why would we knock down a part of our history? Way to go MoCo...all about money! |
