Crown Farm is a 180-acre farm that included two historic houses (one has recently been demolished), several agricultural buildings and a log house that dates back to the early 1800s. The farm is located on Fields Road, across the street from the Washingtonian complex (RIO), and is one of the only remaining pieces of original farmland in the area. Development of Crown Farm is currently underway.

Ed Roberts 5/15/12 Nice to have development but real sad to see the old farms fade away.
Jeff 3/4/13 Glad to see the weeds replaced by blacktop. Thanks developers. Making the world a parking lot, one farm at a time.
Bob Crown 9/23/16 Interesting. My great GF, John Samuel Crown, and GF moved from Maryland to Gainesville, FL in the late 1880's. My GGF operated a steam paddle wheel ferry on Lake Alachua and GR purchased a plantation. Wonder about the relationship.
Earl T. Crown III 3/24/18 I am a great grandson of JS Crown. I would love to hear from Bob.
